Calling a Tow for Customers

Please respond to this message to confirm that you have read it.

========================

When you help a customer on the side of the road, there will be times when you need to call a tow truck. For example, you get a call in the middle of the night for a freeway tire change. Once you arrive on site, you realize that conditions are too unsafe for you to do the work. Maybe the shoulder of the freeway is too narrow and there is no wider location the customer could safely move the vehicle to. Maybe the customer doesn't have a good spare. In these cases, you would have to contact dispatch and inform them that you cannot do the work and a tow truck is needed. Dispatch calls back the road club to get you a GOA and get a tow.

It is our policy (and the policy of all road clubs) that we are NOT to leave the customer stranded on a highway or freeway. We stay with the customer until a tow truck arrives.

If this happens to you, please contact me so I can cover your area while you are waiting with the customer. If I am not available for whatever reason, please contact another tech.

Thanks
